Slee Lake is close at hand, and Alvord Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Kilbrennan Lake Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. At Alvord Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Alvord Lake.       You're in all probability hooked on lakes, Moose Lake is one of those nearby, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Grouse Lake Trail. Alvord Lake is typically a pretty dried out site; November is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Libby is a good choice, and why not go to close by Callahan Creek since you're here at Alvord Lake. There                  is a fine hiking trail in the neighborhood of Alvord Lake called the Goat Mountain Trail, and paddling on Yaak River is so much fun. Just can't get enough of Alvord Lake. Very delightful scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Turner Mountain, and get drenched paddling on Yaak River.
