     From Alp Lake you obtain a good sight of Imp Peak, and a pretty lake like Expedition Lake is a tremendous site to have a look at. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area near Alp Lake has to offer. Head up to Big Sky and strap some skis to your feet, and going for a hike on the Lightning Creek Trail is always a fine adventure. This lake is so wonderful. A tour to Hilgard Basin rejuvenates the soul, and get your heart beating  
   on the pleasant whitewater of Madison River. And that's not all you can do here at Alp Lake.
The snow is tremendous at Moonlight Basin, and if you need a site to stay Arrowhead is a great choice. Alp Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Rock Creek Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn WEST YELLOWSTONE. Alp Lake gets very little precipitation; June is when you get the most rain here; the
 
               driest of the months is January.
If you're here, you might as well stop by Expedition Pass, and you can go for a hike on the Wapiti Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Alp Lake has to offer, you can camp at Beaver Creek Campground 1, and you'll find a charming lake called Crag Lake. Summertime highs at Alp Lake generally tend to be in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; overnight lows at Alp Lake through the wintertime frequently sink into the 10's.
Near Alp Lake you discover the Cutoff Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and nearby you hit upon Pyramid Point.
