And if that's not enough there's a lot more enjoyable stuff to do in the Lewis Range. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Mountain while you're here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Akokala Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bowman Creek Campground. Akokala       Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Bowman Lake Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby, and going for a hike along the Numa Ridge Lookout Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. At Akokala Lake through the summer months highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Akokala Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout                  winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Flathead River - Middle Fork offers some great whitewater. Lakes? Sure, Bowman Lake is in close proximity. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Long Bow Lake, and hiking along the Akokala Lake Trail is nice fun. This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Lewis Range.
