There's no way someone can get bored here in the Lewis Range. A short journey to Akaiyan Falls is always worthwhile; a pleasant trip to Avalanche Basin is a good way to spend an afternoon. This lake is so wonderful. Akaiyan Lake is not the only place nearby, Gem Lake is a nearby lake; Akaiyan Lake is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Sprague Creek Campground is a glorious site to camp nearby. If the weather       is tremendous here at Akaiyan Lake, you can go for a hike along the Avalanche Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Flathead River - Middle Fork. Akaiyan Lake is a good site of normal rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and April on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. For the duration of the long summer days                  highs here at Akaiyan Lake reach the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Akaiyan Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. A perfect location in the neighborhood of Akaiyan Lake is Comeau Pass, and dry warm beds await you at Glacier Park Super 8 Motel. Edwards Mountain is easy to spot from Akaiyan Lake. So many amusing things to do in the Lewis Range, not sufficient time. Looking for a delightful tour? Glacier National Park is reasonably next to Akaiyan Lake; if you're here you can take a hike along the Gunsight Pass Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Have a good hiking adventure along the Snyder Lake Trail, and a lake nearby is Feather Woman Lake. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area near Akaiyan Lake has to offer.
