This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Akaiyan Lake without first going for a hike along the Gunsight Pass Trail, and everyone loves Avalanche Basin. Glacier National Park is a very fine place to check out near Akaiyan Lake. So many amusing things to do at Akaiyan Lake, so little time. Akaiyan Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Sprague Creek Campground is a brilliant       local campground; a fine location is Comeau Pass. This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. A lake close by is Avalanche Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Flathead River - Middle Fork. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Lewis Range. There's good hiking along the Avalanche Trail; on a beautiful day you get a wonderful vista of Edwards Mountain from Akaiyan Lake. There's                  so much to do here at Akaiyan Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Avalanche Campground is a glorious site for that, and a short journey to Akaiyan Falls is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Akaiyan Lake, you could also stop at close by Upper Snyder Lake; after a long day outdoors Glacier Park Super 8 Motel is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two. So many enjoyable things to do in the Lewis Range, not sufficient time. Go for a hike on the Snyder Lake Trail, and Sperry Glacier is an interesting thing to catch a glimpse of if you're here. For the duration of the warm months at Akaiyan Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, frequently in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Akaiyan Lake.
