Abandoned Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. All through the summer months here at Abandoned Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Abandoned Lake fall into the 0's. There is a perfect hiking trail close to Abandoned Lake called the Upper Granite Loop Trail; whitewater paddling

| | is pleasant on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range, too pleasant to be true. Why not camp at Island Lake Campground if you're here at Abandoned Lake, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Beartooth Highlakes Trail.
