If you're a golfer then a fine nearby course is West Point Country Club; after a long day       outdoors West Point - Days Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This is a popular location for folks from Starkville; naturally, this is a magnificent area for folks who like lakes, Harmon Lake is a lake in close proximity. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Walker Lake has to offer, you can camp at Indian Mound Campground RV Park; Walker Lake Dam is wonderful. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Walker Lake, and through the night it cools                  down to the 70's.
