Sportsman Lake is a wet spot that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; October meanwhile is the driest month. Going for a hike on the Black Creek Hiking Trail is always a nice adventure. Sportsman Lake is not the only site close by, Clear Lake is a close by lake, and Sportsman Lake       is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Deer Run Lake Hunting Lodge is a delightful place to camp nearby. Super 8 Motel - Hattiesburg is a perfect spot to get some rest; nearby you find the Buckeye Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Sportsman Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Red Carpet Inn Hattiesburg, and Lake Perry is a brilliant campground nearby. During the summertime months                  here at Sportsman Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 70's. During the winter highs are in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Sportsman Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
