The high level of rainfall makes Sims Lake a quite wet spot; December is when you get the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. It's a splendid idea to explore Carters Creek, it's in close proximity to Sims Lake, and                  do take a hike on the Buckeye Trail. At Sims Lake you always meet someone from Hattiesburg, and dry warm beds await you at Inn On The Hill. This lake is so wonderful.
