A good swamp in close proximity to Petes Lake is Red Oak Swamp, and Cunningham Branch is close to Petes Lake and is always a joy to go to. During your visit to Petes Lake you'll meet some folks from Pascagoula for sure; do visit Sapling       Pond, it's a gorgeous lake. Through the summertime at Petes Lake highs are usually in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Petes Lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place.
