     Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LUCEDALE is a great location to get some rest, and not far from Leaf Pond you'll hit upon McLeod Pond which is a lovely lake. Camping at Lake Perry is always a good experience; there are pleasant locations to explore along the Black Creek Hiking Trail. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Leaf Pond has it all. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Soggy Bottom Canoe and Kayak, and a tour to Gulf  
   Islands National Seashore is worthwhile.
At Harvison Lake Dam near Leaf Pond there are some exciting things to see. Lakes? Sure, Gator Hole Pond is in the neighborhood. Leaf Pond frequently gets a lot of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Throughout the long summer days at Leaf Pond temperatures are typically in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down
 
               into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Leaf Pond.
