At Horseshoe Lake through the summer months highs are in the 90's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 70's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 50's while Horseshoe Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Big Foot Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and if you haven’t been to       Gulf Islands National Seashore, you should schedule some time for it since you're here. Horseshoe Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Lake-a-way Camp Grounds is a fine local campground, and of course Barney Branch is a charming stream that is worth checking out. Hiking along the Tuxachanie Trail is magnificent fun, and Southern Inn is a good place to get some rest. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Horseshoe                  Lake. If you need a location to stay Best Western Woodstone is a nice choice, and camping at Deer Run Lake Hunting Lodge is always a splendid experience. Horseshoe Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most; October is the month with the least moisture.
