There's so much to do here at Gum Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Goshen Springs Campground is a pleasant place for that. Gum Lake is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with a large amount of precipitation; December is the month that gets the most rain while October is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Shockaloe Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Gum Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pelahatchie Lake Campgrounds.
