If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vicksburg is a glorious choice; Goose Lake is not far at all from Vicksburg. All the water falling down from the sky makes Goose Lake a wet place; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest of the months is August. Lakes? Sure, Thompson Lake is around here, and at Thompson Lake Dam close to Goose Lake there are some out of the       ordinary things to see. The warmest time of the year at Goose Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 70's. During the wintertime highs are regularly in the 50's; night lows in the 30's for Goose Lake. A great nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Vicksburg, and a wonderful location to camp here at Goose Lake is Battlefield Kampground. This lake is so wonderful. Scotts Lake is a good lake close                  to Goose Lake, and why not stop at nearby Bliss Creek if you're here at Goose Lake. What a place this is for outdoors folks.
