This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites PICAYUNE is a great choice; Socias Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Gum Bayou is a glorious local stream, and Back Bayou is an exciting swamp near George Lake. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do near George Lake. Sun Roamers RV Resort is a wonderful campground nearby. All the water falling down from the sky       makes George Lake a wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is usually the driest month. A delightful close by hotel is Days Inn - Picayune, and if you came for an overnight stay Lazy-j Campgrounds is a great spot to camp. George Lake is a place with many visitors from Bogalusa; if you get bored of George Lake you could also check out close by Pearl River and Pearl River Canal Pool N. Throughout the summertime months here at                  George Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's.
