It's a great idea to explore Gum Ridge Chute, it's near Duck Pond, and Duck Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Whispering Pines Travel Park is a pleasant local campground. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Duck Pond get into the 90's while overnight lows are typically in the 70's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's, and through the       dark hours in the wintertime at Duck Pond temperatures sink to the 30's. People from Natchez love to come to Duck Pond, and Cypress Grove Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lake Bruin Motel is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and if you're here, do take a visit to Kings Point. So much fun stuff to do at Duck Pond, so little time. The high level of rainfall makes Duck Pond a reasonably                  wet spot; throughout the month of December you get the most rain around here, and September is when it's the driest. A fine close by hotel is Cypress Landing.
