Lots of precipitation falls at Doctor Lake; the month with most of the rain is March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Gulf Islands National Seashore is a tremendous national park; after a long day outdoors Best Western Woodstone is a delightful place to spend a night or two. At Doctor Lake during the summer highs are       in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Doctor Lake fall into the 30's. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Doctor Lake. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Doctor Lake called the Big Foot Trail, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Black Creek Hiking Trail. The Tuxachanie Trail                  is a great hiking trail right next door to Doctor Lake; while you're here, you could also explore pretty Horseshoe Lake. Doctor Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Red Wolf Wilderness Adventures is a great local campground, and don't forget to take a great little spree to Bug Branch.
