A nice close by hotel is Comfort Suites Vicksburg, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Horseshoe Lake. Summertime highs at Blue Lake frequently tend to be in the 90's, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, commonly in the 70's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 50's while Blue Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 30's. Blue       Lake gets a large amount of water; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is September. Why not pop by R O Duncan Lake Dam while you're here, and Blue Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Askew's Landing Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Blue Bayou is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to, and a fine location to camp here at Blue Lake is Battlefield Kampground.                  Any time is a great time at Blue Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Enjoy a round of golf at Clear Creek Golf Club not far from Blue Lake, and during your visit here you'll meet some people from Vicksburg for sure. Lakes?
