Through the summertime months at Big Lake highs are mostly in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Big Lake. Big Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Frog Level RV Park is a great local campground. Hiking along the Shockaloe Trail is great fun, and pleasant water scenery       is available at Charles McEdwards Catfish Pond Dam close to Big Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Patrons Union Campground is a splendid place to do that; after a long day outdoors Apple Tree Inn is a great place to spend a night or two.
