     Stay the night at Whispering Pines Travel Park, and not far from American Legion Lake you'll locate Krauss Lake which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn Natchez is a glorious spot to get some rest, and American Legion Lake is a splendid site to visit for more than one day, Traceway Camp Grounds is a splendid site to camp nearby. Summer brings highs in the 90's to American Legion Lake. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's. All through  
   the wintertime highs are generally in the 50's, and overnight lows at American Legion Lake through the winter usually sink into the 30's.
All the water falling down from the sky makes American Legion Lake a wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is September. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a sight of at American Legion Lake Dam in the neighborhood of American Legion Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Mossy Lake.

He had never seen the Lake Okhissa, and I thought that it would make a good ride for our motorcycles. The day was beautiful, but the lake was another story. When we arrived, there were two sherrif's officers and a wildlife offical at the gate. We stopped to ask if we could ride thru just to look. We were informed that it would cost $5.00 to just look. This is silly! We were not fishing or staying for any length of time. The visiting friend is a police officer in another town. It was quite a rude ordeal!...
