Alligator Lake is a quite wet place usually with a good deal of precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here; September is the month with the least moisture. Swamps like Tupelo Gum Lake near Alligator Lake make for splendid sites to explore; Coal Bluff Park Campground is a nice local campground. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do close to Alligator       Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a great little trip to Coffee Bogue; if you're here, you could also explore scenic Long Lake. Through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 90's at Alligator Lake, and the overnight is a little cooler of course, typically in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Alligator Lake.
