Allen Lake gets lots of water; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is September. If you get bored of Allen Lake, you could also go to close by Lake Claiborne, and do check out Centers Creek since you're here at Allen Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. There's so much to do here at Allen Lake that you need to camp here       for a while, River Town Campground is a splendid site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn - Vicksburg. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Allen Lake has to offer, you can camp at Rivertown Campground. For the duration of the warm months at Allen Lake highs are generally in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the                  50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Allen Lake descend into the 30's.
