Do stop by Winsor Lake while you're in this part of Missouri. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Ozarks. Camping at St. Louis South RV Park is always a tremendous experience; a lake nearby is Lake Louise. That right there is loads of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Ozarks has it all. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FESTUS - SOUTH ST. LOUIS is a good place to get some rest, and a splendid place to camp here

This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Winsor Lake; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; January is the month with the least moisture. And that's not all you can do here at Winsor Lake. Golf can be played at Joachim Golf Course, and Windsor Lake Dam is not far at all from Winsor Lake.

Super 8 is a perfect choice, and Winsor Lake is not the only place nearby, Lake Horine is a nearby lake. High temperatures at Winsor Lake through the warm months are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Winsor Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Little Creek is a magnificent local stream, and you can hit the slopes at Hidden Valley in close proximity.

 | Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
