     This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Pepermint Springs since you're here at Williams Lake; G Williams Dam is a place that is close to Williams Lake. Travelodge Six Flags / Gray Summit is a magnificent place to get some rest. Lakes? Sure, Lost Valley Lakes is nearby. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Ozarks. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Near Six Flags St. Louis is a delightful location  
   to spend a night or two, and why not camp at Lazy Acres Camp Ground & Rntl if you're here at Williams Lake.
The annual rainfall here at Williams Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is January. Williams Lake is one of the lakes here in the Ozarks. Hidden Valley is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and Al Swantner Reservoir is a great lake close by.
And if that's not enough, there's a
 
               heap more to do near Williams Lake. Pin Oak Creek RV Park is a splendid local campground. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Williams Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Williams Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.

All bass good seemingly hitting everything; Sunfish and Bluegill are good on live bait w/bobber combo; Catfish are fair on liver and goldfish; Crappie slow....

It's starting to heat up at the lake.  I caught this one on a cricket with a bobber, about 5 feet in depth....

Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo.  and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe....
