Troy Newman Lake 1 is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Troy Newman Lake 1, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Troy Newman Lake 1 dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. | | Columbia Missouri is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Hinkson Creek; golf can be played at Lake of the Woods Golf Course.

Troy Newman Lake 1 is a good location of normal rain; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one
that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. You're perhaps interested in lakes, Landhuis Lake is one of those nearby, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Columbia/Lake Of The Woods is a great location
to spend a night or two. Troy Newman Lake 1 is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Grove Village MHP is a great local campground, and Lake Chateau Dam is a lovely spot, unquestionably worth visiting.

| There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ... |
