This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant nearby hotel is Super 8 Columbia East, and paddling on Hinkson Creek is so much fun. At Troy Newman Lake 1 during the summer months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Troy Newman       Lake 1 temperatures dip to the 10's. Having a fine time at Troy Newman Lake 1 is painless. There are plenty of folks from Columbia here at Troy Newman Lake 1, and you can go for a hike on the Cedar Creek Hiking Trail.
