    In Missouri there are many beautiful lakes, Stone Pond is one of them. While you're here at Stone Pond you can take a hike along the Locust Lane Nature Trail, and Camp Hickory Haven is a fine local campground. The warmest time of the year at Stone Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 30's, and night lows at Stone Pond through the winter  
   regularly plunge into the 10's.
Now, you may imagine that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Stone Pond. There are some nice whitewater spots on Cedar Creek, and if you need a site to stay Keokuk Super 8 Motel is a fine choice. If you come at the right time of year, Bear Creek offers some good whitewater; if you came for an overnight stay Hickory Haven Campground is a fine spot to camp. Do visit Schlotter Lake near Stone Pond, it's
 
               a wonderful lake; Fairfield Inn By Marriott Keokuk is a perfect spot to get some rest.
This lake is so wonderful. Here at Stone Pond you'll probably meet some folks from Keokuk-Fort Madison, and Round Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. A common amount of rain falls here at Stone Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
