This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Cottonwood Golf Course, and during your visit here you'll meet some people from Farmington for sure. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Ozarks. Summertime highs at Spring Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Spring Lake.

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Summer Set Lake; Super 8 Bonne Terre is a fine site to get some rest. Having a fine time in the Ozarks is painless. Spring Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Cherokee Landing is a delightful local campground; Spring Lake Dam is not far at all from Spring Lake.

Fishermans Lake is a lake that's close to Spring Lake; some close by water includes Falling Rock Branch. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FESTUS - SOUTH ST. LOUIS, and camping at State Of Missouri is always
a great experience. Spring Lake is a good spot of typical precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is January.

 | Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
