If you are traveling by, why not stop by Silver Lake. Camping is available at Camp Hickory Haven, and the Locust Lane Nature Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. A great place to camp here at Silver Lake is Hickory Haven Campground; close by you discover Willow Bar which is a great spot to stop at. The cheerful people of Keokuk-Fort Madison like to hang out nearby, and of course Fox River flows through this

| | vicinity. The yearly rain here at Silver Lake is about average; most of the rain falls all through July, and February on the other hand is the driest. Paddling on Cedar Creek is so much fun. At Silver Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 60's. is a great place to get some rest; if you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore Pickens Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Fairfield Inn By Marriott Keokuk, and whitewater paddling is nice on Bear Creek.
