Shady Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. A lake nearby is Lower Municipal Golf Course Lake, and camping at Cottonwoods RV Park is always a delightful experience. High temperatures at Shady Lake during the long summer days are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Shady Lake. An average amount of rainfall

This lake is so wonderful. Goose Creek is a charming stream that is worth visiting; camping is available at Pine Grove Village MHP. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Shady Lake Dam is not far at all from Shady Lake; get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Hinkson Creek. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Columbia; hiking along the
Cedar Creek Hiking Trail is wonderful fun. Lots of folks from Columbia come to Shady Lake, and a round of golf at nearby University of Missouri-Columbia Gustin Golf Course is a good way to kill some time.
