Sears Community Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. You're possibly keen on lakes, O'Conner Pond is one of those nearby, and there's whitewater on North River for all you thrill seekers. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the vicinity of Sears Community Lake. Here at Sears Community Lake there are plenty of folks from Hannibal; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Hickory Bluff Trail. you can play some golf at Jackson Park Golf Course, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Lick Creek Trail. An average amount of precipitation falls at Sears Community Lake; most of the rain falls during July,
and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Wiseman Recreation Lake is a lake in close proximity, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites.

 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago.... |
