While you're here at Sears Community Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Hannibal, and Sears Community Lake is right by the Lick Creek Trail. is a wonderful choice. This lake is so wonderful. The scenery at Stevens Dam in close proximity to Sears Community Lake is lovely, and an afternoon playing golf at Jackson Park Golf Course is always a delight. There are some wonderful
whitewater spots on Cedar Creek; you'll locate a scenic lake called O'Conner Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites, and if you come at the right time of year, North River offers some brilliant whitewater.

Cedar Creek
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
