Beautiful Scotts Pond has much to offer visitors. Scotts Pond is located in the Ozarks. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Ozarks. Hiking along the Cedar Bluff Trail is splendid fun, and near Scotts Pond you find a golf course called Oak Meadow Country Club. Going for a hike along the Blossom Rock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and you're sure to stumble upon some nice folks from Rolla here.

| | wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Rolla. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Drury Inn Rolla is a great location to spend a night or two; camping at Camp Brim Shire is always a great experience. Frisco Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Kaintuck Trail.

Kaintuck Trail

...the top, you will not know that you are on a bridge. From the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked. Maybe the next time the park service is out clearing fallen trees or ... |
