     Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Columbia East; you can go for a hike on the Cedar Creek Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Hinkson Creek, and Scott Lake is not the only site nearby, Aaron Lake is a nearby lake. All the outdoors amusing things in the neighborhood of Scott Lake will keep you coming back time and again. Why not camp at Cottonwoods RV Park since you're here at Scott Lake; a lake close by is Andy Lake. Scott  
   Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January.
If you need a place to stay Columbia Hilton Garden Inn is a tremendous choice, and Pine Grove Village MHP is a delightful local campground. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Scott Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets
 
               highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Scott Lake are in the 10's.
The nice folks of Columbia like to hang out close by, and at Scott Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Scott Lake there are some exciting things to see.

Hinkson Creek
Let's get some data on Cedar Creek.  I just canoed it on 10/10/09,  and it was a hell of a fun ride....There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ...
