S G Powell Lake is a beautiful lake in the Ozarks. Looking for something near S G Powell Lake? Lake Avalon is in the neighborhood, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Farmington is a fine choice. There's good hiking along the Taum Sauk Trail; do visit Sylvan Lake Dam since you're here.

the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Pilot Knob Lake is near S G Powell Lake; Brewers Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. And that's not all you can do here at S G Powell
Lake. Camping at St Joe State Park is always a fine experience, and hiking is a popular thing to do around S G Powell Lake; Crane Lake Trail is a splendid local trail.
S G Powell Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; most
of the rain falls throughout March while January is ordinarily the driest month. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Ozarks, too great to be true. Bread Tray Mountain is simple to spot from S G Powell Lake, and splendid hiking is available along the Silver Mine Trail.

There is also a mine which drains toxic chemicals into the river....St. Francis vacation, late April 2007 As far as I'm concerned this is one of my favorite rivers. It's like it's a whole new river at different water levels. We camped here for 11 days straight. Great campgrounds, and great water. We could live here.... |

why drain a national park's lake? this is all we have up here and now there is little left! STOP the draining of our lake! there are animals dieing because of it! there was also more money spent here in north dakota when the lake was a lot fuller. come look and see what damage your stupid missouri is costing at the lake! i go there every year and more and more water is gone for what? notheing! now that there is not a lot of water left people have to find a a different place to go. they cant even keep there boats at fort stevenson because it is BONE DRY! missouri, you need to close down your falls because there is more money made here and it not fair that a NATIONAL PARK Can Not survive because of you!! there should be no reason why a NAtional park should close. also the lake was here before your stupid idea even came around. there for it is our right to protect what we have:our future,homes, and last but not least, our lake and population.... |
