This lake is located in the wonderful Ozarks. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. A great place to camp here at Palmer Lake is Hazel Creek Campground. From a rain point of view Palmer Lake is a relatively normal place; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is January. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Ozarks. Potosi Super 8 Motel is a glorious site to       get some rest, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Taum Sauk Creek. If you need a place to stay Austin Inn is a glorious choice, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Black River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Palmer Mine Dam is a site that is in the neighborhood of Palmer Lake, and close by you discover the Trace Creek Trail which is a good hiking trail. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Palmer Lake get into the 80's. Summer                  overnight lows sink down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Palmer Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. So many exciting things near Palmer Lake, absolutely incredible. Camping at Wild Boar Ridge Campground is always a nice experience; why not a little side journey to Compton Branch.
