You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Number 12 Reservoir. is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn/Quincy. There's so much to do here at Number 12 Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Valley View Mobile Home Park is a great place for that.

Cedar Creek
 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago.... |
