     This lake is located in the wonderful Ozarks. For the duration of the summer here at McFarland Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 90's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at McFarland Pond dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. All year is a pleasant time in the Ozarks if you adore the outdoors. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Doniphan is a  
   perfect place to spend a night or two, and camping at Buffalo Creek Campground is always a wonderful experience.
Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! McFarland Pond rules! A nice place to camp here at McFarland Pond is Gooseneck River Campground. A great location in the neighborhood of McFarland Pond is Bridges Hollow; why not a little side visit to Cave Fork. All the water falling down from the sky makes McFarland Pond a wet site; March is when you get the
 
               most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Suites Pocahontas; if you get bored of McFarland Pond you could also stop at close by Flat Pond. A lake close by is West Pond, and Ozark National Scenic River is a pleasant local destination.

Woody past away in 2007.? The canoe rental and campground is closed.? This place will be missed....My family and I went to Woody's Canoe Rental and Campground a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful weekend camping and canoeing. They have water and electricity at all camp sites. They have new canoes and kayaks and a small store on site. The river is beautiful and cold. Woody told me there are a 100 springs that feed into this river. I would highly recommend this campground....
