Long Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bear Creek, and the Locust Lane Nature Trail offers hiking at its best. Whitewater paddling is great on Cedar Creek; needless to say, this is a delightful area for people who like lakes, Buck-Doe Run Watershed Lake Number 25 is a lake in the vicinity.

| | so wonderful. Long Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hickory Haven Campground is a great local campground; it's a wonderful idea to check out Doe Run. A brilliant close by hotel is Fairfield Inn By Marriott Keokuk, and you can take a little trip to Baxter Lake Dam if you're here at Long Pond. Keokuk Super 8 Motel is a splendid place to get some rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Stone Pond. High temperatures at Long
Pond all through the months of summer are in the 80's, and the night is fairly colder of course, mostly in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Long Pond.
Long Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February.
