Little Prairie Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. A great close by hotel is Days Inn And Suites St James, and there's splendid hiking along the Blossom Rock Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Blue Moon RV Park and Horse Motel; Little Prairie Lake is not the only place nearby, I-38 Lake

| | is a nearby lake. Drury Inn Rolla is a perfect location to get some rest, and Little Prairie Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Camp Brim Shire is a good spot to camp nearby. Little Prairie Lake is a good place of typical rainfall; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month.

possibly meet some folks from Rolla here. An exciting thing to stop by right next door to Little Prairie Lake is Little Prairie Dam, and a lake close by is Amos Lake. Summertime at Little Prairie Lake comes with high temperatures
in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Little Prairie Lake.
This place, Little Prairie Lake, it just has so much outdoors fun
stuff. A short visit to Woods Spring is always worthwhile, and pleasant hiking is available along the Cedar Bluff Trail.

... through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked. Maybe the next time the park service is out clearing fallen trees or doing their controlled burns they can tack up a few more trail signs, especially where the trail forks... |
