If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Taum Sauk Creek, and Black River Family Restaurant is a great site to get some rest. The Ozarks scenery is always beautiful. A great deal of rainfall falls at Leonards Lake; November is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. A       journey to Bryson Hollow is always fun, and if you need a place to stay Log Cabin Inn is a good choice. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Ozark National Scenic River is a pleasant local destination here at Leonards Lake. Summertime highs at Leonards Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Leonards Lake are in the 20's.                  Black River - East Fork is a brilliant whitewater spot right next door to Leonards Lake; while you're here you can take a hike along the Crane Lake Trail.
