Lake of the Oaks is not far at all from Keokuk-Fort Madison, and a lake nearby is Higbee Lake. Lake of the Oaks is a good place of typical rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Man, is there heaps of fun stuff to do right next door to Lake of the Oaks. If you came to camp Sugar Valley Campground is a perfect place to do that. Get wet paddling       on Bear Creek, and Fairfield Inn By Marriott Keokuk is a brilliant location to get some rest. At Lake of the Oaks during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake of the Oaks are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Willer Lake Section 20 is a nearby lake that you could explore; Lake of the Oaks is glorious                  enough to spend more than a day at, Hickory Haven Campground is a glorious local campground.
