Lake Tealwood is a nice lake to visit. The Ozarks scenery is always beautiful. Near Lake Tealwood you hit upon the Cedar Bluff Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; Tealwood Dam has glorious water scenery. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Tealwood. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Tealwood temperatures descend

site to stay Best Western Coachlight is a tremendous choice. But wait, there's more to do near Lake Tealwood. Not far from Lake Tealwood, you'll locate Fabick Lake which is a beautiful lake, and going for a hike on the Kaintuck Trail
is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail close to Lake Tealwood called the Blossom Rock Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Tealwood has to offer, you can camp at Jason Place Campground.

Kaintuck Trail

...m the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked. Maybe the next time the park service is out clearing fallen trees or doing their controlled burns they can tack up a few more ... |
