Lakes are such peaceful places, why not take a look at Ramona Lake in the neighborhood of Lake Sherwood. There's so much to do here at Lake Sherwood that you need to camp here for a while, St Louis Recreational Vehicle Park is a good spot for that. A fine nearby hotel is St. Louis Travelodge. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Sherwood has to offer, you can camp at Deer Hollow Ranch. This lake is so wonderful. Hidden Valley has delightful

| | slopes and a friendly staff, and you'll stumble on a wonderful lake called Compton Hill Reservoir. During the long summer days here at Lake Sherwood, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, ordinarily in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Lake Sherwood dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.

spree to Lake Sherwood you'll meet some people from St. Louis for sure, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Ruth Park Golf Course. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend
Mississippi River. Lake Sherwood gets a common amount of annual precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest.
Lake Sherwood Dam is not far at all from Lake Sherwood, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Airport & Conference Center is a good choice.

Cahokia RV Parque

We spent a couple of nights at the Cahokia RV Parque recently and we were very satisfied. The location is off of a main road (IL 3) which makes it noisy, but easily accessible. The park is very close to downtown STL; about 5 miles. It is in a commercial area, close to East St. Louis, but we felt secure and comfortable. Though small and tightly spaced like most city RV parks, it is well kept. The only two complaints we had was the lack of cable TV and free WiFi. Though the park does have WiFi, there is a daily charge. Service was excellent, and the people were very helpful, courteous and accommodating. We were at first hesitant based on a previous review, but was surprised to be greeted and helped by some of the best parks staffers I have met. We looked at two other RV parks in the STL downtown area, and Cahokia Parque was easily the best. I would highly recommend this park to anyone travelling to or through St. Louis.... |
