It has been dug between high hills and there is only one road to access it. Once you're down there, surrounded with trees, it seems as though you're in another world, like Narnia or so. The cottages are quite charming and there is a pathway all around the lake (20mns walk). All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Lockloma a wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is January. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Black River; if you're dropping by from Poplar Bluff, you won't be the only one. And if that's not enough there's a load more       exciting stuff to do in the Ozarks. There's so much to do here at Lake Lockloma that you need to camp here for a while, Bullwinkle's Rustic Lodge and RV Park is a magnificent site for that. Lakes are great; Wren Lake is a lake that's next to Lake Lockloma. Summertime highs at Lake Lockloma typically tend to be in the 90's; the overnight is rather colder of course, generally in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights                  at Lake Lockloma are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. This is a delightful vicinity for folks who like lakes. Big Lake is a lake around here, and Lake Lockloma Dam is a site that is near Lake Lockloma. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Poplar Bluff Missouri is a magnificent choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Lockloma has to offer, you can camp at Camelot RV Campground. If the weather is splendid here at Lake Lockloma, you can go for a hike along the Lost Creek Nature Trail, and Holiday Inn POPLAR BLUFF is a pleasant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lake Lockloma you hit upon the Johnson Natural Area Backpack Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. So much cool stuff to do here at Lake Lockloma, too pleasant to be true.
