You'll meet a lot of folks from Springfield here, and since you're here, you could take a look at Broad Creek. A lake nearby is Ford Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Deerfield Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Lake James. Springfield/Strafford Super 8 Motel is a fine spot to get some rest. The scenery at Lake James Dam in       the neighborhood of Lake James is pretty, and camping at Cora's Oak Rest RV Park is always a pleasant experience. This lake is so wonderful. Lake James is not the only site close by, Barnard Lake is a close by lake, and Lake James is great enough to spend more than a day at, Silver Bell RV Park is a great local campground. Lake James is a quite wet place mostly with a good deal of rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is January.                  For the duration of the warm months highs here at Lake James get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
