The beauty of Lake Glen Rose attracts many people from all around. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. This lake is so wonderful. Sugar Creek Country Club is a golf course near Lake Glen Rose, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Hidden Valley. Why not check out Glen Rose Lake Dam since you're here; Lake Glen Rose is great enough to spend more than a day at, St. Louis South RV Park is a great local campground.

Lake Glen Rose is located in the Ozarks. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Glen Rose. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The wintertime
comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Lake Glen Rose. Lake Glen Rose is a good spot of normal rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |

It's starting to heat up at the lake. I caught this one on a cricket with a bobber, about 5 feet in depth.... |
