Man, is there lots of cool stuff to do close to Lake Adelle. Take a little trip to Belews Creek if you're here at Lake Adelle, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Cedar Hill Lake Number 1. Very beautiful scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at Hidden Valley, and a tremendous nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Eureka. Lake Adelle is a beautiful lake in the Ozarks.

| | while you're here at Lake Adelle, and Lake Adelle is a great place to visit for more than one day, KOA St. Louis West is a great place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course near Lake Adelle is House Springs Golf Course. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Adelle has to offer, you can camp at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. This is a perfect neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Cedar Hill Lakes is a lake in the neighborhood; Super 8 Eureka/Six Flags Nearby is a magnificent location to get some rest.

Lake Wauwanoka
| Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
