Hulen Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Hulen Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout May, and January is when it's the driest. Hulen Lake West Dam is worth taking a look at if you're here, and you can stay the night at Cottonwoods RV Park. So much fun stuff to do at Hulen Lake, so little time. It's a fine idea to stop by County House Branch, it's near Hulen Lake, and Lower Municipal Golf Course

A golf course close to Hulen Lake is L A Nickell Golf Course; if you're here, you could also have a look at beautiful Fairview Lake. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Select Columbia-Executive Center, Mo is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. that. High temperatures at Hulen Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's; nighttime lows during
the winter for Hulen Lake tend to be in the 10's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hinkson Creek; don't leave Hulen Lake without first going for a hike along the Cedar Creek Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent close by hotel is Drury Inn Columbia; during your spree here you'll meet some people from Columbia for sure.

 | There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ... |
