Do stop at Huston Lake right next door to Houston Lake, it's a scenic lake, and if you need a place to stay Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa is a fine choice. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 90's at Houston Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Houston Lake. This site is excellent, just check out all the fun things to

| | do in close proximity to Houston Lake. A tremendous close by hotel is Super 8 Riverside/Kansas City, and Houston Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. East Creek flows through this region.
This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Blue River in a kayak, and while you're here, you could also stop by lovely Lake Waukomis. This is a popular spot for people from Kansas City, and get covered with water paddling | |

on Kansas River. Houston Lake is a good spot of typical precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
Playing golf is lots of fun at Sunflower Hills Golf Course,
and Houston Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Heart Mobile Village is a splendid local campground. Hit the slopes at Snow Creek nearby. There's so much to do here at Houston Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Woodland Acres is a wonderful location for that.
