Highway Lake truly is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Highway Lake Dam is beautiful and it's next to Highway Lake, and you're most likely into lakes, Fabick Lake is one of those nearby. Highway Lake is a beautiful lake in the Ozarks. That right there is heaps of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Ozarks has it all. A tremendous spot to camp here at Highway Lake is Montauk State Park, and if you need a location to stay Hampton Inn

Be careful coming to the Ozarks, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Rolla, and camping is available at Pine Crest Campground. During the warmest time of the year at Highway Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and night lows at Highway Lake through the wintertime frequently | |

Near Highway Lake you find the Cedar Bluff Trail
which is a magnificent hiking trail; you'll meet a lot of folks from Rolla here. There is a great hiking trail near Highway Lake called the Blossom Rock Trail, and obviously, this is a delightful area for folks who like lakes, Round
Pond is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful.

Kaintuck Trail

...er seen. From the top, you will not know that you are on a bridge. From the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked.
