This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Hide A Way Lake. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Hide A Way Lake are in the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ozarks. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Vaughn Spring, and there are plenty of folks from West Plains here.

| | the only place close by, Lair Lake is a close by lake, and the Ridge Runner NR Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express WEST PLAINS, obviously you could also take a look at Elm Pond since you're here; it's not far at all.

Take a picnic basket on the 3/4 mile hike to Inspiration Point, where you may relax on a park bench and enjoy the spectacular view of the North Fork River. The trail is well marked and at a gentle enough incline for almost anyone to make the trip.

The River of Life Spring On your Ozark nature hike, enjoy the River of Life Spring as the small babbling brook it makes on its way to the North Fork River.
While hiking, you're likely to encounter a few of the many species of wildlife that inhabit or visit the grounds including deer, turkey, bald eagles, raccoons, and bob cats.
