Hidden Valley Lake is a beautiful lake in the Ozarks. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Near Six Flags St. Louis is a fine site to spend a night or two, and it's a glorious idea to visit Bethlehem Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hidden Valley Lake is in the vicinity of Hidden Valley Lake Dam which is a delightful place definitely worth a visit; for you golfers we recommend nearby Raintree Country Club.

Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Ozarks rocks!. During the long summer days here at Hidden Valley Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the
60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Hidden Valley Lake dip into the 10's. Now, you may imagine that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here
in the Ozarks. Lakes? Sure, Lakes Famar is in close proximity, and the slopes of Hidden Valley are so inviting nobody can resist.

Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
